Made for the municipality of Helden-Panningen in 2005 for the village of Egchel. I was inspired by the place and by the local baker of the village. He, Reynen Funs, was a well-known figure and also took care of the village's food supply with his large bakery. The basic form is an ear of corn. The sculpture is an abstract version made of stainless steel.
With the placement of the sculpture, the square on which the Aar is placed is also named after Reynen Funs. De Aar is also a tribute to Reynen Funs and in a deeper sense also the dependence on people with nature.
